In 2011 the Anglican Foundation of Canada established a Kids Helping Kids fund and introduced Hope Bear “as a tangible reminder that the Anglican Church cares for kids in Canada.” With a $20-$30 donation, you can have your own AFC Hope Bear – a great gift for a special celebration – with all funds going to support:
- providing kids with a nutritious breakfast before school
- helping kids with homework after school
- caring for kids with a terminal diagnosis
- giving kids a chance to go to summer camp or choir school
A deacon Hope Bear makes a wonderful ordination gift or other occasion gift for a deacon you know and care for! It is a win-win. The AFC’s Hope bear gives deacons and those who care about deacons the opportunity to support a worthwhile cause (one that is an expression of the diakonia to which all of us as members of the body of Christ are called) and the availability of the new deacon stoles assist us by making our order of ministry more visible to the wider Anglican Church of Canada!
